Capcom has officially announced Monster Hunter Outlanders for Android and iOS, bringing the classic open-world exploration and monster-hunting gameplay of the Monster Hunter series to mobile platforms. Developed by TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent, in collaboration with Capcom, the game promises to capture the essence of the franchise's signature gameplay on smartphones.

Since its inception in 2004 with the original Monster Hunter, the action RPG series has grown into a massive global success, with over 100 million units sold to date. In partnership with TiMi Studio Group, the developer behind major mobile titles like Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokémon Unite, Capcom is expanding the reach of Monster Hunter to mobile players.

Monster Hunter Outlanders is set in a vast, open world where players can embark on solo hunts or team up with up to three other hunters. The game features diverse environments teeming with dangerous creatures. As with previous entries in the franchise, players can craft tools and gear to help them tackle various challenges. While an official release date has yet to be announced, Monster Hunter Outlanders will undergo several playtests before its official launch.

Dong Huang, producer at TiMi Studio Group, explained that the game aims to enhance the Monster Hunter experience by integrating modern social features, allowing players to enjoy the franchise's core hunting mechanics alongside the community elements common in today's games. Huang emphasized the studio's mission to let mobile gamers fully experience what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved gaming franchises.

In addition to Monster Hunter Outlanders, Capcom is working on Monster Hunter Wilds for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, which recently launched in open beta and generated strong interest. The official release of Monster Hunter Wilds is slated for February 28, 2025. As excitement for the game continues to grow, Monster Hunter Outlanders faces competition from other major AAA titles set to launch next year, such as GTA 6 and Assassin's Creed Shadows.
