Despite the enduring popularity of the Battlefield franchise, recent entries have struggled, particularly with Battlefield 2042, which faced major technical and server issues at launch. While these games have since improved, many fans continue to hope for a return to the Bad Company series, which offered a unique mix of humor and war-style action.

The last Bad Company title, Bad Company 2, was released in 2010, and since then, EA has shown little interest in continuing the franchise. Goldfarb, who is currently working with The Outsiders on games like Metal: Hellsinger, recently expressed his eagerness to work on another Bad Company game. "I am right here. They [EA] know where I am if they want to do one," Goldfarb said during an interview.

However, Goldfarb remains uncertain about the possibility of a third game in the franchise. While he began developing the narrative for Bad Company 3, he believes that the type of game Bad Company represented may no longer fit with the production standards EA is focused on. Goldfarb suggests that companies are now more risk-averse, preferring to play it safe rather than replicate the success of Bad Company 2, which he views as a "perfect storm" rather than a replicable blueprint.

The Bad Company series remains special to many of its developers, thanks to its lighthearted, fun approach to war with a campaign that felt like a buddy action movie and multiplayer that embraced the popular Rush mode. Although EA briefly revisited the Bad Company franchise by adding content from these games into Battlefield 2042's Portal mode and considering remasters, the prospect of a new Bad Company game remains unclear.
