If true, the Lantern Rite in 2025, scheduled for the second half of Version 5.3, will include Hu Tao’s skin debut. Despite her recent appearance on Event Banners in Version 5.1, past releases have shown that banner frequency has little bearing on skin availability. While some players speculate her outfit may follow a "blue flames" theme to align with her association with Wuwang Hill, this remains unconfirmed.

Version 5.3 will also introduce new characters, Citlali and Mavuika, each with their own Story Quests. Adding a third quest for Hu Tao in the same update could feel excessive, especially considering that Version 5.3 is expected to feature the climax of Natlan’s Archon Quest and a major Lantern Rite Flagship Event.
