PUBG Studios, the team behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, has introduced a new online multiplayer title, Project ARC, where teams of five face off in strategic, high-stakes battles. Following the success of its previous titles like PUBG: Battlegrounds and New State Mobile, the South Korean developer is now looking to bring another dynamic PC shooter to the market.

PUBG Studios has firmly established itself in the online multiplayer genre, particularly with battle royale games set in the PUBG universe. The original PUBG: Battlegrounds received widespread acclaim and still holds the Steam record for most concurrent players, peaking at an impressive 3.2 million in 2017. With Project ARC, the Krafton-owned studio appears to be doubling down on its success with a fresh tactical shooter.

Project ARC is a 5v5 shooter played from a top-down view, combining “fast-paced gunplay” with real-time strategy, according to its Steam page. The game encourages teams to leverage “real-time shared vision with teammates” and an arsenal of tools to achieve objectives. Players will use an array of weapons and equipment, from pistols and assault rifles to drones and proximity mines, along with a close-quarters battle (CQB) mechanic to gain the upper hand in intense, indoor combat. Like its predecessors, Project ARC includes a mode where one team must hack a terminal while the other defends it.

As work on Project ARC continues, PUBG Studios is also keeping PUBG: Battlegrounds up-to-date. A recent patch introduced new weapons, gear, and gameplay improvements, enhancing the matchmaking experience for its global player base. While there’s no release date for Project ARC yet, excitement is building as fans await more from PUBG Studios’ latest venture.
